Butterflies dance.

Eyes shimmer.

Breath catches.

Fingertips hover

over the keys…

There is no turning back.

March 1st.

12:01 a.m.

Am I ready?

Here I go.

The Challenge begins.

  1. What a perfect beginning to your slicing month! I love your little poem! Can’t wait to see more of your writing as those fingers and keys herald your voice to the world!

  2. Fabulous beginning, Erin!
It’s only my second year and I can tell you that I have anxious butterflies as well. There’s the thrill of anticipation as well as a bit of trepidation. But you won’t regret a minute of your writing! Your writing time will become some of your most treasured moments. We all worry about whether it’s “good enough” but the key is to KEEP writing! It becomes easier and better over time . . . practice, practice . . . practice!

  3. This captures it perfectly! This is my second year and I still have those same butterflies. It is scary to think of writing 31 days straight but there is so much inspiration in others’ posts. Good luck!

  4. I’m cheering that you have jumped in and will splash about in this pool of writing. You will see that it is addictive. Loved your poem, you captured the anticipation everyone experiences.

  5. These lines are so precious:
